However, for one chef in India, it’s become the norm.

A Daily Mail article has reported how fearless cook Prem Singh dips his hands in oil that has been heated to 200°C to pull out fillets of fried fish – and he’s been doing it for 25 years. Without any burns.

Mr Singh told the paper: “I put my hand into hot oil once. Later, I did it again. I soon realised that the hot oil did not do me any harm.”

And his business continues to boom with people coming from all over the region to try out the great tasting fish.

We’d like to take a closer look at Prem’s hands, as we’re sure that 25 years of dipping them into scalding oil has probably had some kind of effect.
