Overview steeped in history and set on the banks of the River Cam, this boutique hotel combines old and new, with a fancy, award-winning design.
It’s smack-bang in the centre of Cambridge, which means everything you need to see is just a short stumble away. It’s classy, so expect the price tag to match.
And there is a spa next door, where guests can use the facilities free of charge, if they’re staying at the hotel.
Wow factor The seventh-floor roof terrace. There’s a small glass wall aligning the edge, affording drinkers stunning views of the river to Magdalene College and everything else in between. Make sure you don’t have one too many, though.
Rooms The king boudoir is a little disappointing. It’s no bigger than a standard room in a Travelodge. If you can afford it, the penthouses boast glass walls overlooking all the major sights.
Bill please King room with breakfast and use of the spa facilities is £200pn (standard doubles £179pn).
