Newly divorced British pop star Cheryl Cole has wasted little time getting stuck into former husband, and Chelsea footballer, Ashley, with lyrics from her latest single making pointed reference to his marital infidelity.

Happy Tears, one song on her new album, Messy Little Raindrops, includes the line: ‘I cried when I heard you were cheatin’/I
cried when I said I was leavin’/I cried when my heart stopped
believin’/But I’m all out of tears.’

Of course, Cheryl, talented sing-ersongwriter that she is, didn’t actually write the lyrics herself. But she did sign off on them, probably after her publicists told them that anything Ashley-related was good business.

Promise
This, the first single from the album, has already been released and
Cheryl will be plugging it incessantly over the next few weeks. Excitement is already at fever pitch over her scheduled performance of the track on The X Factor on October 24. Wonder how she’ll sound without the autotune.
