This is the traditional Christmas market but with a particular two-wheeled hipster spin. Spin London’s very special Christmas market takes the usual yuletide traditions and combines it with a passion for cycling. So there will be mulled wine and craft beers on offer as well as market stalls selling everything the cycling enthusiast could desire, from bikes, to gear to gadgets. There will be art exhibits from local artists as well as DJs spinning tunes, as well.

Tudor Christmas Market in Kingston – Until Dec 24

If you’re looking for a Christmas market that has a blast from the past vibe then this Tudor event in south London will be just the ticket. The Tudor-style stalls will have all manner of festive goods and cheer on offer, featuring everything from homemade gifts to maybe a little something for yourself too. And if that wasn’t enough, the nearby Hampton Court Palace just over the bridge and along the Thames is close enough to walk to and enjoy some Tudor-style ice skating, too.

Spitalfields City Farm Xmas market – Dec 7

This little farm is a guaranteed surprise all year round, from its positioning of a variety of animals on the edge of The City to its hipster-infused take on the festive Christmas market. This one day winter market promises Christmas trees (natch!), festive crafts (given the locals, we’re not surprised) donkey rides (it’s a farm after all) as well as musical workshops and, of course, Santa! Check your humbug-isms at the door and enjoy.

Christmas at Morden Hall Park – Dec 6-7 and 13-14

The leafy grounds of Morden Hall Park in south London are truly awe-inspiring, with cultivated grounds, free flowing streams and a large stately home in the centre. This Christmas market is held in the Victorian stable yard adjacent to this, with real pine Christmas trees and candle-making workshops. Out in the countryside – almost – it is a real step out of the hustle and bustle of London that is guaranteed to get you in the festive mood.

Covent Garden Christmas – to Jan 6

Covent Garden market is a bustling hive of activity all year round, featuring all manner of high end luxuries to home spun delicacies. At this time of year though, it goes all out to bring you an unrivalled festive experience. The cobbled piazza and the market buildings that surround it are decked out with fairylights as far as the eye can see – and then some – with a mother of all Christmas trees in the main square. As well as all the food, grub and gifts on offer, there will even be real life living reindeer in the ‘garden’ on Saturday afternoons as well, which visitors can feed. So if you have some excitable nieces or nephews – or want to indulge your inner child – get on down.
