The animated Churchill dog has featured in a long running series of ads and has been a popular mascot for the firm since 1994.
Timothy Tailor, 55, called the company to get his six year old hound insured “It’s ironic that Churchill’s mascot is an old bulldog that says ‘Ohhh yes’,” Tailor told the Daily Mail.
“Bulldogs usually live to about 12 and Monty has just been given a clean bill of health by the vet, so he’s a pretty safe bet for insurance.” he continued.
However, the firm rejected his request for insurance due to new age restrictions for pets.
Bulldogs can suffer from a wide range of health problems including heart problems and respiratory difficulties.
