Tucked away in a basement, Blue Cow is set to convert the capital’s suited and booted to the art of bending, stretching and mindfulness.
It operates on the philosphy everyone needs yoga, but if classes are limited to noisy gyms at unsuitable times, no one needs it that much.
“We also need yoga that makes us smile … without overdosing on smells and bells; and we need yoga taught in a … place full of like-minded people who believe it’s more fun doing it together,” reads the website.
Having tried the studio, we can vouch it achieves all those things. When I walk in, I don’t feel as though I’d stumbled into a commune overdosed on tie-dye.
Outside the main studio, there is a comfortable, airy space for yogis to mingle. Lessons, including pilates, are for beginners and seasoned yogis, and are scheduled regularly. They include classes where you can walk in and out when you like, so no embarrassing late entrances. I’m a convert.
