The squid he captured looked a little bloated, but nevertheless it was still sold and killed at the local market. Afterwards, it was discovered that the fish contained a three pound bomb, suspected to be from Chinese fighter jets.
“This sort of squid lives close to the shore and normally makes a meal of small fish and prawns,” Mr. Huang, the man who made the discovery, told Guangzhou Daily newspaper.
“Perhaps he thought the bomb was his favourite food and gulped it down. He certainly had a big belly when he was caught,” he added.
The bomb was handed over to Chinese authorities, who performed a controlled explosion. Local police stated the age of the rusted bomb was unknown, but it could have detonated at any minute if handled incorrectly.
Watch out, these sea rebels are ready to fight back and blow you right out of the water.
