In their seventh win out of eight tests against England down under, the home side bowled England out for 218 on the last day meaning they won by an innings and 41 runs.
Play was delayed by 3 hours at the WACA ground in Perth after an overnight downpour and eventually started with the tourists needing 259 to make Australia bat again but it wasn’t to be. Josh Hazelwood dispatched 5-48 bowling Bairstow out with his very first delivery of the day with Pat Cummins sealing the deal as Chris Woaks was caught behind by wicket keeper Tim Paine.
The third test ended with England on 403 & 218 and Australia having declared on 662-9.
The home side will now go for a 5-0 whitewash with two remaining tests in Melbourne and Sydney.
