England internationals, Ben Stokes and Alex Hales will not be selected for future England action until further notice, after an alleged incident late Monday morning outside a Bristol nightclub.

It comes after England successfully won a one-day international match in the area against the West Indies.

With Stokes, named in the touring party to Australia for this winter’s Ashes battle, a huge doubt remains in place whether he will now go, with the first test in Brisbane on November 23.

The ECB announced “Each remains on full pay pending further ECB investigation and the ongoing police investigation into an incident in Bristol in the early hours of Monday 25 September.”

Meanwhile, the touring party to Australia featured very few surprises with opener Mark Stoneman of Surrey keeping his opening role and Tom Westley of Essex losing his spot.

Back into the England fold come Hampshire’s James Vince and Yorkshire’s Gary Balance with young leg-spinner Mason Crane.
