Food

Darwin’s wonderful food markets and al-fresco dining scene have really put this tropical, multi-cultural city on the map.

For freshly prepared Asian food, head to the clearly signed suburb of Parap just off the Stuart Highway, and follow the crowd to the Saturday markets. Be sure to sample Mary’s famous laksas!

If you’re after a quintessentially Darwin dining experience, then check out Stokes Hill Wharf where you can get grilled barramundi and chips at a table under the stars and literally by water’s edge!

Drink

Darwin abounds with pubs, clubs and beer gardens. Mitchell St is where to go for the backpacker/party scene with the drag-queen floorshows at ‘Throb’ nightclub in adjacent Smith St not to be missed!!

For a more relaxed beverage, pull up a chair in paradise at the Ski Club or settle in with a nice wine and admire the yachts at Cullen Bay.

Water

Dawin’s tap water is fine to drink.
