David and Victoria Beckham are on the royal wedding list.
Invitations were sent out last week to 1,900 people, but St James’s Palace has not published an official guest list.
Around half of those attending are friends and family of William and Kate.
Those invited would have received a short note reading:
“‘The Lord Chamberlain is commanded by the Queen to invite [name] to the marriage of his Royal Highness Prince William of Wales KG with Miss Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey on Friday 29 April 2011 at 11.00am.”
Among those notable exceptions from the list were Michelle and Barack Obama, and the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew and close friend of the late Princess Diana.
No political heads of state have been invited, but some charity workers and servicemen injured in Afghanistan and Iraq are expected to attend.
Only 650 people have been invited to the formal reception at Buckingham Palace.
