David Beckham has demanded a front-page apology from In Touch after the US mag ran a story claiming that he had a threesome with two hookers.
The football star will also seek £5 million in damages from the prostitute who made the allegations.
Irma Nici claimed that Beckham paid her £3,200 to have sex in New York’s Le Parker Meridien hotel while he was there for a Galaxy game against New York Red Bulls and that he paid another £1,500 for a second girl to join in.
However Beckham is strongly denying having sex with the hookers. His wife Victoria is standing by him and the Beckham’s legal team assert that Nici’s story can be proved false.
Last night Beckham ordered a hunt for hooker Irma Nici, who is in hiding, so that she can be served with a writ. Becks will also chase In Touch publisher Bauer for a six-figure sum in the High Court.
Beckham has reportedly been told that legal action against the mag is unlikely to succeed in the US because of the degree of importance placed on freedom of speech. However judges could enforce a ruling in Germany, where the magazine also operates.
A friend of the Beckham’s told The Sun: “David is prepared to scour the earth for this woman, who seems to think she could make up a complete fantasy that is extremely hurtful to him and his family.
“She has treated his wife and children with such disregard he is not prepared to let this one go.
“He wants everyone held accountable. The magazine, the publishers and the hooker.”
