Golden Balls has been playing ‘soccer’ in the United States for six years since he left Real Madrid, but is keen to take on a final challenge in his twilight years of his playing career.

“I’ve had an incredibly special time playing for the LA Galaxy,” Becks said in a statement.

“However, I wanted to experience one last challenge before the end of my playing career.

“I don’t see this as the end of my relationship with Major League Soccer as my ambition is to be part of the ownership structure in the future.”

Becks, who played for Manchester United and Spanish giants Real Madrid, would be joining the likes of Alessandro Del Piero and former England teammate Emile Heskey both of whom have made recent moves Down Under.
