New Zealand cyclist Julian Dean has finished fourth in the fourth stage of the Tour of Britain on Thursday.

Dean, who stands 26th on general classification, was four seconds behind Norwegian Edvald Boasson Hagen, who clocked three hours, 36 minutes, 11 seconds for the 156km stage from Worcester to Stoke-on-Trent.

With four stages to go, Frenchman Geoffroy Lequatre, of Agritubel, leads the race at 13hr 43min 05sec.

Dean, riding for Garmin Chipotle, is 12min 32sec behind.

Stage five is 168km from Kingston-on-Hull to Dalby Forest, which includes three climbs in quick succession at the end of the stage.
