A moment’s walk from the beachside area lies the impressive main stage and its sizeable open-air dancefloor. Again, spectacularly lit, this will be the performance area for some of the dance world’s biggest acts such as Basement Jaxx, Dennis Ferrer, Kenny Dope and Roger Sanchez. Accompanying these legends is a selection of the freshest, most forward-thinking names in contemporary house music – including Lee Walker, Josh Butler and Sonny Fodera. On the opposite side of the bay, and two minutes’ walk from the beachside stage, lies a jetty from which the Argonaughty boat sails twice daily, transporting festival goers around a thrilling tour of neighbouring islands, each trip soundtracked by specially curated line-ups. Lasting between four or six hours, these 10 boat parties are hosted by handpicked friends of the label – from the Osunlade-owned Yoruba Records to Belgian club La Rocca, and Defected’s own Glitterbox to Jimpster’s legendary Freerange Records. The final performance area is the stunning outdoor club Barbarella’s, located in a countryside area, 10 minutes’ drive by car from the main site. Regular coaches or taxis will spirit festivalgoers the short ride to (and from) this much-loved afterhours spot which has, in recent years, been voted one of Europe’s best clubs. This is one of the finest spaces in the world in which to dance under the stars.
