The Bangladesh clothing sweatshop factory collapsed, killing hundreds of workers and children. But Reshma Begum has reportedly survived the horrifying ordeal, engulfed in the wreckage, by breathing through a pipe and eating biscuits.
Emergency rescue workers pulled Begum from the rubble at the former Rana Plaza.
“I heard the sound and rushed towards the spot. I knelt down and heard a faint voice. Sir, please help me, she cried,” rescuer Abdur Razzaq told The Guardian.
Rescuers and crowds of observers burst into cheers of jubilation and tears as the miraculous survivor emerged.
