Despite summer officially being over and done with, the sunshine kept up appearances for one last Pier Jam party. The fourth and final instalment of Blackpool’s biggest electronic dance music event did not disappoint, with four stages showcasing music from the likes of DJ EZ, Preditah, Low Steppa, TQD and Bontan.
The sold out closing party opened its doors at 14.00, giving music lovers an excuse to lap up the surprisingly beautiful weather before Low Steppa took to the Main Room’s stage at around 17.00. Despite his early set time he really kick started with his mix of bass house and garage anthems.
Up next was Preditah, Skepta’s much loved tour DJ, who changed the tempo somewhat by dropping raw grime and testing out the durability of the sound systems with some serious bassline bangers.
Over in Arena Two, TQD played a crazy set to uproarious appreciation. The collective, made up of Royal T, DJ Q and Flava D, used four decks to whip up huge energy from the crowd, getting them pumped for EZ’s headline set in the Main Room.
The legendary garage producer was undoubtedly the main attraction of the day, and he did not disappoint. His quintessential mix of garage classics never fails to drive a crowd wild, the giddiness palpable every time a garage classic is dropped. Blackpool pier’s final Pier Jam takeover went out in style.
