Luis Brignoni rushed out in to the back yard of his Florida home to find his 11-year old son Fernando screaming after the family’s pet pooch had bitten his finger off. Thinking quick on his feet, he grabbed his gun, blasted the dog dead and set about carving open the dog’s stomach to locate the severed digit.
“I said: ‘I’ve got to go find the finger,’” Mr Brignoni told the Bradeton Herald newspaper of his instant reactions to do whatever he needed to help his son.
Despite his quick-thinking the finger was too chewed to be reattached.
Speaking of this sad development to local news network Bay New 9, Mr Brignoni added philosophically: “He might be missing a finger but his other four are good”
