Fat Freddy’s Drop (!K7)

As with their debut album, the best tunes on Fat Freddy’s Drop’s new studio outing are no mere songs, but aural adventures morphing seamlessly from genre to genre.

Case in point is the wonderful Southern blues to ragtime jazz number The Nod and the pure molten, shapeshifting sounds of 10 minute epic Shiverman.

Less convincing is the straight up ’70s soul groove of Boondigga but all is redeemed with The Raft’s unique interplanetary reggae.
