At the start of the year, we were ‘in drought’ after an unusually dry winter. But the wettest spring since seemingly forever, which has seen three months of rain (which has never seemed to stop), has replenished the dangerously empty water supplies.
As a result, three water companies, Anglian Water, Southern Water, and Thames Water, have lifted their hosepipe bans.
South East Water, Sutton and East Surey Water, Veolia Water Central and Veolia Water Southeast have confirmed that their bans are still in place.
The lift of these bans comes days after the Environment Agency issued five flood warnings across the south of England.
