Dublin in 2-3 days
Day 1
Head to Trinity College and take in the tranquil setting of this revered university. While you are there admire the illuminated pages of one of the world’s oldest manuscripts, the Book Of Kells.
Move on to bustling Grafton Street for a bit of retail therapy and a spot of lunch at a café or a takeaway at an Italian deli.
Wander on to St Stephen’s Green for a restful afternoon stroll in preparation for a big night out in Temple Bar’s pubs.
Day 2
After a late start visit Kilmainham Gaol for insight into Ireland’s oppressive past.
Then make your way to the Guinness Storehouse, ending your tour with a pint of black stuff while admiring the city from the brewery’s Gravity Bar.
Walk along the Liffey and head back into town to see the ancient ruins of Christchurch Cathedral. Take afternoon tea at Queen of Tarts.
Book yourself on a literary tour of Dublin in the evening or try and catch a live performance of Celtic musicians in Monkstown or at a traditional pub.
Day 3
Take a trip along the coast using the DART service. Head south to the pretty seaside village of Dalkey or north to Howth, a popular destination for day trippers from Dublin.
