Food

Dunedin’s cafés and restaurants cater to all tastes and needs and are rated among the best in the country.

A variety of restaurants are available to suit most palates.

Most are located in the city centre or only minutes away and serve everything from the traditional Scottish foods, to the more contemporary New Zealand gourmet style.

Good food and plenty of it is standard fare at many of Dunedin’s pubs and bars, which offer everything from traditional hearty meals to contemporary al fresco dining.

Drink

Dunedin’s nightlife ranges from its legendary university swill holes where drunken, animal-like behavior is de rigueur to smart, upmarket wine bars and a boutique casino.

There are many bars and pubs located in and around the Octagon, city’s centre, each within a short walk form each other and each with its own particular flavour.

Water

The water from the tap in New Zealand is fine to drink.
