Getting there:
You can fly directly into Dunedin’s Momona Airport which is on the Taieri Plains, 20 mins from the city centre. Alternatively you can drive from Christchurch. Allow five hours.
Getting around:
Dunedin has a convenient, efficient and affordable public bus service from the city to all suburbs and outlying centres. Coach services run daily to other areas in Otago, as well as Canterbury and Southland.
Taxis
Dunedin’s compact size means that a taxi fare from one stop on your itinerary to the next is affordable.
Driving
There are many car hire companies in Dunedin, with a range of vehicles to suit any traveller on any budget. Watch out for the icy roads in winter.
Walking
The peaceful paths and walkways leading into the city through the Town Belt provide you with an enjoyable start to the day. The central city area is compact, meaning you will be able to fit a lot of sightseeing, dining and pleasure in a day’s wandering.
