Yep, the carrot-topped chart topper is one of the most popular solo male artists in the world right now but he doesn’t want to cash in, and has announced that fans won’t have to break the bank when he tours next year.

Instead of charging hundreds of dollars for tickets, he’ll be charging just $99 (plus fees) with none of the usual VIP packages or premium seating charges.

Frontier Touring’s Michael Gudinski applauded Sheeran setting his ticket prices at a low level.

“Ed wanted to ensure that his shows were accessible to all of his fans. It’s incredibly rare these days to have all tickets at one price in arena venues but Ed wanted to make it happen.”

“I applaud that Ed wants to look after his fans. He remembers lining up as a kid to get good tickets and believes that any fan should have the chance to get the best seats, not just the ones with the most money.

“I wish more artists would take this initiative!”

The tour, which kicks off in March, includes dates in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

Tickets go on sale on 2 October and he’ll tour completely solo – he won’t be bringing a band.

If you don’t want to wait until March, Sheeran is playing at the AFL Grand Final this weekend.
