Sir Elton John and David Furnish admitted that they don’t know which of them is the biological father of their son Zachary Jackson Levon, and it sounds very much like they don’t care either.
When asked “who’s the daddy?” by OK! Magazine John, 63, said: “We have no clue.”
Furnish then chipped in: “At the moment he has Elton’s nose… he’s our child.”
The couple told OK! Magazine that they both “contributed” to the pregnancy, carried to term by a secret surrogate mother who gave birth to Zachary on Christmas Day.
John and Furnish, 48, were married in a civil partnership ceremony in 2005 spoke to the magazine of wanting to complete their family.
“David and I have always been close but this is the last step in completing us as a family,” he said.
“It ties us together, and there’s not a bigger responsibility in your life than bringing up a child. We intend to make sure to fulfil it in the best possible way.”
The couple have no intention of discovering their son’s actual biological father. But the world famous singer, worth £200 million said that when Zachary grows up he is welcome to find out for himself: “If he wants to know, we can do a DNA test,” said John.
