Extracts from journalist Tom Bower’s book that claim Cowell had an affair with X Factor co-judge Dannii Minogue have already caused controversy.
And now The Sun has printed an extract in which Cowell said his engagement to Hussainy, who he split from in February after getting engaged two years previously, was a “big mistake”.
He is quoted as saying: “I’m a hopeless boyfriend.
“I’m attracted to crazy women. I encourage crazy behaviour and I make them crazy.”
Cowell apparently added: “Every girl wants to be number one and they’re very territorial. I like the fight, because otherwise I’d have a dull group of girlfriends.”
The book also claims that Cowell was “mesmerised” by Cheryl Cole.
However, Cowell is famously friendly with his ex-girlfriends, including Sinitta and Terri Seymour.
