He was tossed from the beachfront Brighton club Shoosh after allegedly harassing women during a late-night Ashes celebration. Mr Panesar, a spin bowler for Sussex County Cricket Club, then went to a promenade above and urinated on two bouncers at the venue’s entrance, reports The Sun.

The doormen chased the 31-year-old into a nearby pizza restaurant as Panesar apparently yelled ‘Help! Help!’ He was then hauled back to the club where he was held for 45 minutes and police were alerted.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “A 31-year-old man received a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly after being seen urinating in public near the Shooshh Club in King’s Road Arches, Brighton, around 4.13am on Monday.”

A spokesman for Mr Panesar said: “’Monty would like to apologise unreservedly for any offence caused.”

It is the second drink-related incident involving Ashes players this summer. In June, Australian batsman David Warner was reprimanded for striking England opener Joe Root in the face during a night out in Birmingham.
