Enlighten 2016, which runs from March 4-12, will see Canberra come alive after dark, as the festival delivers another program of exciting events and surprising experiences, including two exclusive Australian firsts.
Illuminating Canberra for its sixth year, Enlighten will transform the Parliamentary Triangle into a hive of activity, featuring the return of the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets, a range of free entertainment and stunning architectural projections that will light up six of Australia’s most iconic buildings.
Australian Parliament House, National Portrait Gallery, National Library of Australia, Museum of Australian Democracy, National Gallery of Australia and Questacon will all display projections on their walls, while also offering a unique opportunity to explore inside their buildings after dark.
“We have a fantastic program of events in place for crowds this year, with roving performers, live music and the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets offering a feast for the senses and enticing visitors to explore, listen, eat and play,” the Chief Minister said.
“An exclusive Australian-first performance from the United States headlines what will be a world-class lighting, music and entertainment spectacular.”
Tickets for events on the main nights of entertainment on Friday 4 March, Saturday 5 March, Friday 11 March and Saturday 12 March are now on sale.
