Sunderland took a step closer to securing their own survival after a shock 1-0 win against fallen champions Manchester United, a result which may well have doomed Norwich. They however got a stay of execution after a getting a gutsy 0-0 draw with Chelsea, a disappointing point for Jose Mourinho’s men which is a huge dent to their title hopes.

Norwich are now two points behind Sunderland in 17th but have played a game more and need Gus Poyet’s side to lose their remaining games while they must beat Arsenal on May 11.
