The Mercedes driver and his rival were never far apart on the Spa track in a tightly contested race.

Vettel aiming to increase his lead in the standings going into the final quarter of the season, could never get in front of Hamilton from the start and was just seconds off the leader all of the race.

Hamilton, who has now won 5 races to Vettel’s 4 this season, had one difficult patch in the race when the two Force India drivers crashed forcing the safety car to be deployed.

Even though, this gave Vettel a slight chance, Hamilton powered his way through the race, untroubled to win in his 200th Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo took third in Red Bull.

The next race is the Italian Grand Prix in Monza this weekend.

Hamilton also equalled Michael Schumacher’s Pole Position record at Spa with 68 poles.
