Calypso Nash was relieved of her post after a video was posted online in which 30 Oxford students take part in a Harlem Shake in the St Hilda’s college library.
The president of St Hilda’s Junior Common Room has spoken of her desire to see the sacked librarian reinstated, with students calling for the same. Now famous alumni of the college have joined in the calls to see the librarian returned to her post.
Award-winning novelist Val McDermid has spoken of her bewilderment at the College’s decision, tweeting: “I’m baffled that my alma mater appears to have lost its sense of humour.”
