During the performance, Beyonce even made an elaborate show of ripping out her earpiece, pretending to prepare for the song’s famous crescendo climax.

But a spokesperson from the United States Marine Band (who were playing the music for the inauguration day) has revealed that at the last minute, the band was informed that Beyonce would use a recorded track during the performance.
“We don’t know why,” the spokeswoman, Master Sgt. Kristin duBois, told the New York Times.
Beyonce or her management are yet to comment on the allegations.
