The Environment Agency has 44 areas under watch, 34 of these in south-east England, with heavy rain predicted to continue in parts of the south-west, east and south east England, as well as in Wales, too.

Five flood warnings have been issued, however there are no severe flood warnings, the most serious level of warning that can be issued.

This comes after a weekend of heavy rainfall which saw disruption across the country, with the clean up projects after localised flooding set to be hampered by the continuing precipitation.

On Saturday roughly 1000 people in west-Wales were moved to safety from flooding.
