According to this PLOS-ONE journal, scientists have discovered hungry spiders lurking by rivers, killing fish and then munching on them. Tasty.

Researchers suggest there have been more than 80 incidences observed of fish being hunted by semi-aquatic spiders.

The ravenous arachnids can be found all over the world except Antarctica, and size doesn’t matter – they’ll attack creatures five times bigger than they are.

They normally like warm areas of water with low oxygen levels, as the fish are more likely to come to the surface to breathe.
