Norwegian, which already runs a successful budget transatlantic route from Oslo to America, will launch services to the US from London this week.
It will fly between Gatwick and LA on Wednesday, with the jet returning to Gatwick on Thursday in time to fly to New York. It then comes back to the UK from JFK and heads back off on the Florida (Fort Lauderdale) flight on Friday. Yep, one plane – a Boeing 787 Dreamliner – will do all that, initially.
“Norwegian’s decision to re-establish London Gatwick’s links to strategic destinations in North America gives passengers, once again, real choice about how to get there and, importantly, provide options for affordable travel to popular business and leisure destinations,” the airline says.
The introductory fare for London – LA is £199 one way. London – New York is £149 one way. And London – Fort Lauderdale is £179 one way.
