Duck and waffle
The highest restaurant in the UK lords it over London from the 40th floor of Heron Tower, the tallest building in the City. Try the titular dish, comprising crispy leg confit with fried duck egg and mustard maple syrup.
Hutong
Based on its sister restaurant in Hong Kong, which gives a panoramic view over the harbour, this high-end Chinese has just opened on level 33 of The Shard. We thoroughly recommend the crispy de-boned lamb ribs.
The Gun
You don’t have to get high for a great view. This Docklands gastropub has a pretty river terrace directly opposite The O2 and serves seriously superior grub, such as Cumbrian veal with sweetbreads and caper mash.
