The Fox News associate producer, who worked on Bill O’Reilly’s show was suspended after media site Gawker began publishing his postings.

After being suspended, the Fox employee, Jo Muto posted a picture of himself on Gawker, writing “It’s Me, Joe: The Fox Mole”.

“They nailed me,” Mr Muto wrote on the Gawker website. “In the end, it was the digital trail that gave me away. … They couldn’t prove it entirely, but I was pretty much the only suspect.”

Muto’s posts became the talk of the television news world this week, as they purported to give a glimpse into the channel known for its conservative personalities such as O’Reilly and Sean Hannity.

One of his postings included a video of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, engaging in off-air banter with Hannity about dressage.
