A Freeman prepares his sheep to cross over the London Bridge for the great sheep crossing. Celebrating the 800th anniversary of London Bridge in July 2009, Freeman’s (shepherds) are allowed to exercise their right to cross the bridge with their stock. The day was also celebrated with a medieval fair that fringed the bridge displaying their trades, crafts, delicious smelling hog roasts, and fine costumery.
