While out meeting the public with the Queen in South Bromley as part of the Jubilee Celebrations, Prince Phillip added to his already comical amount of gaffes, with this aside.
One onlooker said: “It was one of Prince Philip’s classics.
“He just made a passing remark to a police officer. The officer was trying to contain his laughter so I asked him what was so funny. He told me that the Duke had said, ‘I would get arrested if I unzipped that dress.’”
Philip has a habit of putting his foot in it, whether it be declaring that British women can’t cook, asking a Scottish driving instructor how they keep the ‘natives off the booze long enough to pass the test’, or asking one Australian Aborigine during a visit to Australia with the Queen in 2002 whether they still throw spears at each other.
