Gamu Nhengu could be hitting the charts soon after being approached by a slew of major record labels.

The 18-year-old, who was controversially snubbed by the X Factor, attended the 2010 Mobo Awards last night.

Speaking of her exit from the show, she said: “I’m all right, yeah. It was a bit difficult at the time but you kind of deal with it. You tell yourself to calm down and breathe and everything is fine.”

Gamu spoke fondly of the other girls on the show who took her place.

“I’ve loved the other girls from the beginning. I think Cher is absolutely talented and Katie has this old school thing going on. I love my girls and really support them. I am really proud of them and I watch every Saturday.”

The star even said she had “no hard feelings” against her mentor Cheryl Cole.

Gamu is currently fighting to stay in the UK after visa issues meant that she could face deportation to her native Zimbabwe.
