In the video posted on his Facebook, Mr Hope showed the goldfish swimming in a glass of water to the camera, then swallowed it. He then consumed an alcoholic cocktail of lager, egg, chilli and spirits.
The RSPCA have commented on his dare, and advised others to report people who use animals in the drinking challenge.
“We urge people not to involve animals in this horrible craze and to report to us anyone who is by calling 0300 1234 999,” a spokesman said.
According to Sky News, Mr Hope was fined £300 after admitting animal cruelty.
