The scene: It’s a low-key Indian restaurant, which feels a bit as if you’re dining in someone’s kitchen. No bells and whistles but authentic.
The grub: Forget about high street, franchised Indian food. This place specialises in south Indian cuisine, so some of the dishes might be unfamiliar, but it’s worth trying something new. The portions are cheap, so order a selection and experiment. The marsala dosai, served with coconut chutney in lemon juice, is a must.
Behind the bar: Go for the Cobra beers – they’re best-suited to Indian food.
Bill please: Booze aside, you’ll struggle to spend more than £10 each on food before being full. It’s serious value.
Verdict: If you love Indian food but are bored by the old staples, grab a group of mates and head to Geeta – it’s truly outstanding.
