Getting There
Air
Fly into Pisa airport and it’s an easy by train to Florence. Alternatively try Florence’s own airport Peretola from where you need to take a shuttle bus or taxi into the city.
Train
Most national and international trains call at Firenze Santa Maria Novella station – Florence’s main train station, which is a few minutes walk into the city.
Getting Around
You’ll be able to use your own steam to get around Florence’s city centre and it’s just a short walk to the main sites from the train station.
If you want to go further afield, or get across town in a rush, you can opt for a local ATAF bus. One hour tickets cost €0.80, three hours is €1.30, one day tickets are €3.10. Don’t be tempted to fare evade as you’ll be hit with a chunky on the spot fine.
