Anderson, who played FBI Agent Scully on the hit Nineties science fiction show and its several spin off movies, has revealed that she has had lesbian affairs in the past.
Anderson spokenly openly in an interview with gay and lesbian magazine Out that she “was in a relationship with a girl for a long time when I was in high school”.
She went on to say: “Would it have been a bigger deal if shame had been attached to it and all those things that become huge life-altering issues for youngsters in that situation? It’s possible that my attitude around it came, on some level, from knowing that I still liked boys.”
Anderson, who has had a huge gay following since her days as the trouser-suit wearing special agent, went on to say that these affairs were “the exception, not the rule.”
Much has been made before of Anderson’s ‘wild child’ past and her drug and alcohol use, but she has not disclosed her bisexuality before. “I am old enough now, I can talk about that,” she says of her admission.
