What’s the show about?

It’s a charity gig for the Women’s Resource Centre, who lobby the government on women’s issues. Proper work, not like us idiot comedians – when gigs like this come up, I think, “Ah yes, this is why I’m still doing comedy.”

What’s the strangest show you’ve done?

At one Edinburgh show a woman brought her dog in but zipped it up in her handbag. The bag just started moving along the floor so I got it out and carried on with the show but holding the dog.  It was a Yorkshire Terrier. And it yawned whenever I told a joke.

What’s the funniest thing you have ever seen?

One time I was breastfeeding my newborn in the kitchen when the microwave caught fire. I screamed so my husband, who was in the bath, ran in soaking wet and naked, slipped on the floor and went flying. I nearly burst my stitches I was laughing so much. It was the fact he was naked and wet, but also concerned and confused and then in pain. So many layers of funny.
