What’s this week’s show about?

Last night I walked into a comedy club toilet to find a man drunkenly cleaning his penis in the sink. He turned around and said, “The date is going really well,” then went back to cleaning … I might talk about that.

Who inspired you to pick up a mic?

I was really obsessed with watching comedians so it seemed the logical next step. Tommy Tiernan was my favourite and still is. If you work hard you get to meet your heroes fairly quickly in comedy and gigging with him was a dream.

He is brilliant. Watch him now. Go!

What was your strangest gig?

I once did a gig in Teddington and a lady in the second row stood up and said, “Why don’t you just read out the raffle?” then sat down.

You know it’s never going to be special when the headliner’s a tombola.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen and why?

Probably a man cleaning his penis in the sink of a comedy club. That’s a hard one to beat.
