The bridge, which is infamously referred to as the ‘bridge to nowhere’, now links the city’s Central Train Station with the Forth and Clyde canal.
Work on the bridge began in the 1970s and was intended to link to a new shopping centre. However, the shopping centre was not built and so work on the bridge stopped and it was left unfinished and hanging in the air as a walkway to nowhere.
The dead-end bridge has long been a topic of local amusement, and features in the below satirical video.
