It’s not as hard as it sounds and we’ve rounded up some of the best restaurants which will allow you to go veggie for a week without giving up your favourite foods – from a cheeky pizza to two Michelin starred fine dining.
Blue Monday Pizza: You’re one day down, with only four more to go ‘til the weekend, so treat yourself to a pizza tea! Goat DINE, Chelsea serves up a luscious goats cheese, tomato, mozzarella, zucchini and rocket pizza, with a selection of veggie sides such as Polenta fries with truffled mayo and broccoli with chilli, almonds and garlic. Dine in or have it takeaway style with Deliveroo
Sushi-to-go Tuesday: For your grab and go lunchtime sushi, check out Hai Street Kitchen & Co and its amazing sushi burritos. Get your gnashers round a cumin roasted carrot sushi burrito – we like it loaded with roasted beets, asparagus and cool cucumber drizzled in chimichurra sauce and topped with crunchy yucca chips. Eat in or al desko!
Burger Wednesday: There’s only one way to get over that midweek hump, and that’s with a juicy burger (of the veggie kind!). As usual, Haché Burgers doesn’t disappoint with its selection. There’s a choice of two falafel burgers; they’re made in house daily and are a scrummy mixture of chick peas, onions, parsley, chilli, coriander and garlic.
Thursday date night: Get out of town for a special Thursday date night at The Latymer, Michael Wignall’s two Michelin starred restaurant at Pennyhill Park and indulge in Michael’s 10-course tasting menu. However, if your Friday night isn’t the same without a good curry, fear not, for Ekachai, the oriental dining room, goes one step further with a vegan curry which still serves up some full-on flavour with its Nyonya vegetable curry.
Saturday coffee and cake: Enjoy your Saturday coffee stop with a slice of vegetable cake at Notting Hill’s Wildflower Café which serves a moist and moreish carrot, coconut and pineapple cake – perfect with one of their Allpress coffees.
Sunday Brunch: It’s Sunday, and you don’t have to forgo your recovery fry up – just get stuck into Polo 24 Hour Bar’s vegetarian breakfast of vegetable rosti, egg, roasted tomato, roasted mushrooms, hash browns, baked beans and bloomer toast. We challenge you not to be converted with this blow out!
Or, you could head over to Parlour for smashed avocado on soda bread, home-style hash browns with ‘anyway’ eggs, chestnut hummus with rosemary pitta bread or raw vegetable ravioli with goat’s cheese. Lush. See, giving up meat isn’t so bad, is it?
