Knuckles passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday afternoon.

Frankie Knuckles was born in the Bronx in 1955, and rose to prominence in the music world during the 1970s.

Throughout his legendary career, Grammy winner Knuckles released famous tracks such as Your Love (1987) and The Whistle Song (1991), was inducted to the Dance Music Hall of Fame, had August 25 declared ‘Frankie Knuckles Day’ by Barack Obama himself and mixed tracks for renowned artists Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Depeche Mode.
