It’s bad news.
Your fiance has been killed in a car accident.
You’re heartbroken.
And then you discover he’s FAKED his own death.
Yep, just months before Alex Lanchester, 23, was due to marry American Tucker Blandford, she received a phone call from someone claiming to be his father.
According to the Mirror, he said he had been killed in a car accident in America.
Alex contacted Tucker’s parents to express her condolences, but was shocked to be told he was in fact completely fine.
Tucker had allegedly posed as his dad on the phone, saying: “Alex, this is Tucker’s dad. There’s no easy way to say this… I am sorry to say that Tucker is dead.”
However, in another surprise twist, Tucker’s mother also knew nothing of her son’s upcoming wedding arrangements.
Had things gone to according to plan, they would have married near Tucker’s home in the US last week.
Metro reported that Alex is now holidaying solo in America.
“In hindsight, all the warning signs were there and I should have known he wasn’t going to marry me,” she said.
“But I was young, in love and naïve.”
